tiara

Crown of jewels with silver foundation. Spinning on a maroon pillow where that is it’s only function. Heavy is the head despite its daintiness. Semi circular shaped domes traced out in silver and hardened off the uppermost design. A princess is waiting for her moment to wear this artifact and signify to her people and the tradition of her culture that she is ready to be a part of this royal family. Sitting on a small throne a seat or so away from the king and queen, she waits patiently and stoic. She is too young to be exhibiting those emotions in such a comfortable fashion. It is almost eerie. Have not even reached maturity. What does she know about duty? What does she know about leadership? What doesn’t she make more time to play? Kids having to grow up quick based on what society and royal family expect of them.
