Everyone who owns a computer and/or smartphone should know about Neil Postman.

In Ethics we are grappling with Neil Postman’s Amusing Ourselves to Death and his critique of a “television-based” epistemology and discourse. Here’s a good intro to Postman’s argument and how it was interrogated on television in the mid 1980s (Postman himself would likely not be amused that his argument is being reduced to two sentences and a 13-minute video):
